ABOUT MR. DOUCETTE
Mr. Doucette is proud to have grown up in Quincy. He first fell in love with theatre in middle school being taught by Mrs. Spencer. He was a Theatre Major in the Renaissance Program at NQ High School.
He then went on to graduate from
Salem State University
earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
in Theatrical Design.
He has been designing lights and scenery professionally for the past eleven years.
In the past he has designed scenery and/or lighting design for productions at
Emmanuel College, Gordon College, Rhode Island College, Marblehead Little Theater, Salem State University, and multiple community theaters.
Since 2012 he has been a part of the faculty of the Quincy High School Creative and Performing Arts Department. He has worked on over 27 full productions at QHS. He has served as an advisor, technical director, designer, and director.
He is always impressed by the talents and the hard work of students of QHS.
He is recently earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theatre Education from Emerson College. At Emerson he learned new teaching methods to help advocate for his students, reflect on representation in the plays at school, and ensure a safe space for student learning.
If you want to get him talking passionately about things other than theatre ask him about his favorite place in the world Fenway Park., his travels all around the United States, or his love of Batman.
